Latvian-Ukrainian vibraphonist Andrei Pushkarev is one of today's most sought-after and versatile solo percussionists. He was born in 1974 in Kyiv into a family of musicians and began his musical training on the piano before enrolling in the Kyiv Specialized Music School in 1980. At the age of 14, he shifted his focus to percussion, marking the beginning of his specialization in the field. Today His repertoire consists solely of his own arrangements and treatments for solo vibraphone, as well as for chamber compositions and for vibraphone and orchestra.
