Since spring 2023, Soli Brass Leeuwarden has been an official MAJESTIC artist. The foundation for this cooperation was laid a long time ago. Founded in 1936, “Soli Deo Gloria” is one of the oldest music associations in Leeuwarden. Originally, Soli Deo Gloria started as a brass band associated with the Free Evangelical Congregation in Leeuwarden. In addition to participating in competitions, one of the most important activities was accompanying the congregation during church services. In 1956 the brass band was transformed into an English brass band under the leadership of conductor Sjoerd Nieuwland. To this day, Soli Brass plays in this formation.
Soli Brass enjoys contributing to innovative and socially engaged projects. As of April 2012, conductor Anne van den Berg is at the helm of Soli Brass. With success! The chemistry between the band and the conductor is extremely good, resulting in great results, projects and activities. Besides all the wonderful projects Soli Brass is allowed to work on, the band is united by a passion for (brass) music. The motivating combination of amateur and (semi-) professional musicians makes for an enthusiastic, motivated and energetic band.
