Majestic and KHS join The Forest Trust

Taipei, Taiwan– July 2010 — KHS is well aware of our responsibility to the environment, and as of June 15, 2010 KHS became a member of The Forest Trust (TFT). TFT is a UK registered charity with the mission of conserving forests through sustainable management. In keeping with its initiatives aimed at achieving this mission, TFT works with Member Businesses - retailers, manufacturers and suppliers of wood products – to map their wood supply chains, to support their efforts to ensure legality of wood sources and to work in concert with them to find responsible and certified sources.
As a first step, TFT will help KHS survey our current wood suppliers to determine where the wood comes from. As a long-term goal, TFT will help KHS implement wood control systems ensuring legal origins of its wood, with the long term goal of FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) chain-of custody certification. By joining TFT, KHS demonstrates its determination to take corporate social responsibility seriously and to move even further in the direction of environmental sustainability. KHS will ensure the wood we use to manufacture our instruments comes from legally verified forest operations and will supply consumers with reliable and responsible instruments. KHS will devote itself to conform to the USA Lacey Act and any similar environmental regulations in the EU. KHS believes in the value provided by products recognized for their quality and for their social and environmental responsibility.
