Canada –February, 2011 – Majestic Percussion Canada is proud to be the official brand of marching percussion for the newly formed scholastic drumline program founded by Stellula Music in Schools, a non‐profit organization building music programs for the children and youth of Simcoe County in Ontario, Canada.
Founder and President Deborah Brown says she is “very pleased and grateful to be
able to make this happen for the kids”, and aims to use this model of the newly formed
drumline program at Penetanguishene Secondary School as the foundation for expanding
the program into several schools in Simcoe County. When asked what made her look to Majestic
for instrumentation, she said: “The variety of options and price points offered by Majestic
make it very easy to implement a program like this, when working within a limited budget.”
Stellula Music delivers its program to rural communities across Simcoe County and is made possible through partnerships, collaborations & sponsorships. Their objective is to make music accessible to all students, while providing constant inspiration for achievement. By providing interaction with professional mentors and musicians, the result is a sustainable program model not only for the young musicians & teachers in the schools, but for long‐term community benefits as well.
“We are proud to align ourselves with an organization that aims to bring the joy of music, and the experience of marching drumline into the lives of kids that would otherwise not have the chance to experience the thrill of this activity”, says Scott Atkins, Product Manager for Majestic Percussion in Canada. “ We look forward to working with Deborah and Stellula Music in Schools to assist in the growth of this program, and I feel their model is one that could work in other parts of the country where music programs are not as abundant within the schools.”

Deborah Brown and helpers prepare the drums for their debut at
Penetanguishene Secondary School in Penetanguishene, Ontario Canada.
Penetanguishene Secondary School has been outfitted with “XTD” and “Endeavor” series
Instruments and XL by Gator Stands and accessories, thanks to the assistance from Bernice
Barratt of Silver Drums and a partnership with Long & McQuade Musical Instruments.
