Smit and Vulperhorst at the National Symphony Orchestral Hall, Taiwan
Taipei–October 20, 2008—Maarten Smit and Peter Vulperhorst were invited by Lien Percussion, one of the best-known Percussion ensembles in Taiwan, to perform a concert together at the National Symphony Orchestral Hall. The concert on October 18th was called Classic Africa Impressions and mainly focused on reinterpretations of classical percussion pieces.
Maarten and Peter attended a press conference to promote the concert and
Majestic that was broadcast on national TV from Oct 15th to Oct 18th. It is a
pleasure that some of the finest Majestic mallets and timpani were performed on stage.
After the successful concert at National Symphony Orchestral Hall, both Maarten and Peter
were surrounded by audience members.
Based on this great opportunity, our Taiwan distributor decided to hold 2 clinics
in 2 different major cities in order to promote Majestic percussion in Taiwan to the
students and teachers. The clinics were also for international sales and marketing representatives
so they could better understand the needs of players and percussion market trends.
Maarten Smit is one of the best timpanist in Europe and a Majestic artists.
Peter Vulperhorst is a well known professional percussionist, composer and conductor
himself. He is also the managing director of Majestic Holland b.v.
