Majestic Concert Percussion Signs Pedro Carneiro to Artist Roster
Lisboa, Portugal – February, 2011 – Majestic Concert Percussion, makers of fine mallet
instruments, is pleased to announce the addition of internationally acclaimed percussionist
Pedro Carneiro to its artist roster. Based out of Portugal, Carneiro is a regular fixture
with the Portuguese Chamber Orchestra in Lisbon, where you acts as chief conductor. Mr.
Carneiro has been teaching, rehearsing and performing on the M8650H professional
5-octave marimba for several months leading up to his official signing with Majestic
on January 31st.
“The tuning on this marimba is great, and it is an absolute joy to play,” said Carneiro.
“The low register resonance is very stable at all dynamic levels, with a nice and neutral
sound.”

Pedro has appeared throughout the world as a solo classical percussionist, performing
at venues in Europe, Asia, Australia and the United States. He has also performed and
recorded with several of the premier orchestras in the world, including the Los Angeles
Philharmonic, Helsinki Philharmonic, Vienna Chamber Orchestra and the English Chamber
Orchestra.
“We invited Pedro to perform on our marimba at the Marimba 2010 International Festival, and
he was outstanding. It was a great opportunity for us to begin discussing future possibilities,”
says Christopher Hankes, Concert Percussion Product Manager for Majestic USA.
General Manager of Majestic Holland, Peter Vulperhorst adds, “This is an important relationship
that we have been working along with our Portuguese distributor, Road Crew, to cultivate. We
are honored to partner with a percussionist of Pedro’s caliber, and to have him performing
on the M8650H marimba.”
