Portugal – July, 2011 – Pedro Carneiro, who has an extensive international career as a percussion soloist, in recent years has done significant work at the national level, not only as a composer and percussion soloist, but also as co-founder, artistic director and chief conductor of the Portuguese Chamber Orchestra: acclaimed as one of the leading orchestras in the country.

Hailed internationally as one of the leading solo classical percussionists and a guest soloist with many prestigious international orchestras, Pedro Carneiro, on receiving the prestigious Gulbenkian Art Award 2011, sees his recent work recognized in Portugal.
