Arjan Jongsma joins the Majestic family
Nijehaske, July 1st 2011—Majestic Holland is pleased and honored to announce that Arjan Jongsma (15) has now officially joined the select group of Majestic endorsers. Arjan Jongsma is one of the biggest talents in the Netherlands at marimba. At the age of 13, Arjan already won the national finals of the famous Prinses Christina Concours. He also played live on national television during the Prinsengracht Festival in 2009.
Arjan is currently a student at "The Meldij" in Drachten, where he is taught
by his uncle Jan Roel Jongsma and is connected to the "Ferwerda Academy" where
he is trained by Rein Ferwerda. He also attends classes with Tatiana Kolevaat the Prince
Claus College of Music in Groningen. Arjan performs at least 40 times a year,
sometimes as a soloist or with his sisters Wilma (oboe) and / or Rianne (flute). For
this summer, Arjan was invited to participate in a summer course with the world famous
Ney Rosauro in Orlando (USA).
After extensive testing Arjan was convinced of the quality of Majestic Marimbas. He finally opted to even play two different models. First the 4.3 octave marimba M7743H which is very easy to set up and transport, and suitable for most repertoire requirements. In addition Arjan chose the 5 octave marimba M8650H. This professional marimba is known for its big warm tone and perfect tuning and is also used by such world-renowned marimba players as Pedro Carneiro (Portugal) and Casey Cangelosi (U.S.).
Majestic Holland wishes Arjan good luck with the further development of his talent and hopes their support will contribute to this. Majestic Holland also wants to thank their dealer Van der Glas BV from Heerenveen for their help in making this endorsement possible.
