Majestic and Ross Chosen for Lincoln Center Performances

AUSTIN, TEXAS ­–March 15, 2005–In February, the College Band Directors National Association (CBDNA) held their biannual conference and convention, which included in a performance by the Small College Intercollegiate Band (SCIB) at Lincoln Center Plaza, New York City, N.Y. This Honor Band, which represents top performers from a nationwide pool, also performed at Carnegie Hall prior to the Lincoln center concert. Jim Latten, Professor of Music at Juniata College in Huntingdon, Pennsylvania served as Percussion Coordinator and Dr. Stephen Crawford, Director of Bands at the University of Mary Hardin Baylor in Belton, Texas, served as the Primary Coordinator for this event. Dr. Crawford selected Majestic timpani and Ross Mallet Instruments for the percussions sections.

"The new Majestic Timpani are amazing drums, and we were thrilled to have such quality instruments for our performance." says Dr. Crawford.

The timpani supplied for the concert were top-of-the-line, custom ordered Grand Classic timpani from Majestic. This event marked the U.S. concert debut of this prestigious line from the Netherlands. The Ross instruments that were chosen by CBDNA for this prestigious event were a 4.3 octave Rosewood Marimba, a 3.5 octave Rosewood Xylophone, 3 octave Pro Artist Gold Vibraphone, 20 Tube Chrome Chimes, and a set of Orchestra Bells. "This was a great opportunity for us to debut the Majestic timpani and we were happy to provide all the instruments for the mallet percussion section as well," says Derek Craig, V.P. of Marketing for Jupiter who attended the event personally. "It was very flattering that these respected educators would request the use of Ross and Majestic at Lincoln Center and at Carnegie Hall for their Honor Band. They put on a wonderful performance."
