Up till now timpani players had to choose between collapsible timpani without professional sound and professional sounding timpani without the possibility of easy transport. Having it both was not possible because all available folding timpani needed their complete tension mechanism inside the kettle. Because of that a full suspended and free sounding timpani kettle was not possible. The Majestic invented and patented Prophonic timpani finally solving this problem!
