Zamstick
About
Zamstick is a percussion group established by musicians who sought a totally new musical performance. Comprised of four classical percussionists and one composer who plays the synthesizer, Zamstick provides breathtaking musical performance with astonishing ideas and witty production. Their fusion performance harmonizes various percussion rhythms and funny actions with the familiar classical, jazz, and musical melodies. As music genres are simplified all over the world, similar performances are presented to the audiences over and over again. For audiences who are tired of these tedious performances, Zamstick provides very unique and extraordinary performance on the stage.
Members
Gwang-sun, KIM / Snare Drum
Leader of Zamstick. Studied percussion in Department of Instrumental of Hanyang University.
Served in Seoul Police Band. Played marimba in various festivals / performed in Polymedia
Theater in Seoul. Member of percussion group ‘Sticking.’ Played percussion in the musical
‘Beauty & Beast.’ Participated in sessions for Sumi JO, ALL 4 ONE’s concert in
Korea, Dong-kyu KIM, Young-nam Jo, Sun-hee LEE, etc.
Se-won JANG / Tom-tom
Studied percussion in Department of Instrumental of Kyunghee University. Performed with
Seoul Police Band. Won second prize of Kyunghee music competition. Performed with Euro-Asian
Philharmonic Orchestra. Drummer of JK Studio.
Joong-sun YOU / Bass Drum
Studied percussion in Department of Instrumental of Yonsei University. Member of National
Orchestra. Member of percussion team ‘Beulah.' Member of fusion percussion group ‘Caprico.’
Participated in the performance of Hei-kyung HONG in Korea. Participated in opera accompaniment
of Korean Symphony Orchestra.
Hyo-bong JEON / Bongo
Studied percussion in Department of Instrumental of Kyunghee University. Percussionist
of Sung-nam Juvenile Orchestra. Performed with Karos Percussion Ensemble. Performed
with Seoul Pops Orchestra in 2002 and 2003.
Ju-yeol SEOL / Synthesizer
S tudied composition in Department of Instrumental of Kyunghee Univeristy. Presented
Genus Opera Corporation in 2003. Performed in opera AIDA. Won second composition prize
of Kyunghee competition in 2003. Outstanding scholarship student in composition in
2003 and 2004.
